FAQ- Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of water-jet cutting?
Versatile: Water-jet is capable of cutting βanyβ material listed on our material page. As well as many others.
Powerful: capable of cutting up to 10β thick.
Accurate: finished parts to 0.05mm (.002β) tolerances.
No Heat Affected Zone: Resulting in less warping of components, increased cutter life on secondary operations and no grinding for weld preparation.
Flexible: any two-dimensional shape can be cut by a simple program done on the machine cad system or from any DXf file either networked, downloaded through the inbuilt modem, or from a USB disk or cd.
Clean: Water-jet produces no smoke or toxic gases because there is no burning process.
Fast: Rapid set up times, no tooling and reduced need for secondary operations due to its accuracy and quality of the cut edge.
Economical: the final shape, size, and finish are usually obtained in a single pass. Since there are no heat-affected surfaces or distortion typical of most other cutting methods, expensive secondary processes such as heat treating, grinding or refashioning are unnecessary.
Minimal Damage: Otherwise impossible corners and angles can be cut in fragile materials without the danger of breakage due to the stress-free nature of the cutting process.
Maximum Utilization: The narrow cutting stream minimizes the width of the cut making it very cost effective by maximizing material usage. Particularly when cutting expensive materials such as titanium, bronze, Kevlar, Teflon, etc.
Why should you consider the factors in Selecting Natural Stone?
Color:Natural Stones are available in a beautiful spectrum of colors. Colors in granite and marble, for instance can range from soft beiges and pinks and classic black and whites to rich corals, greens and multi colors. Marble traditionally features swirls and veins of colors, while granite has flecked or pebbled appearance.
Finish:Natural Stones can be polished or honed for a distinct appearance. A polished finish has a glossy surface that reflects light and emphasizes the color and making of the stone. This finish is typically used on walls, furniture tiles and floor tiles. A honed finish is a satin smooth surface with relatively little light reflection. It is generally preferred for floors, stair treads, thresholds and other traffic where heavy traffic will wear off a polished finish. Natural Stone has been the premium building material of choice since the beginning of construction.
Natural Stone: Quarried from the rock beds formed over millions of years, natural stone used in residential and commercial settings comes from many countries of the world. Because stone is a natural product of nature, no two pieces in the world are alike, making it each finished countertop, wall, and floor, mantle or still in your home is distinctive and matchless
